ODA Seeks Members for Sandy River Subbasin Local Advisory Committee: The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) seeks additional members for the Sandy River Subbasin Local Advisory Committee (LAC) which meets once every two years to review and provide input on efforts to improve water quality within the surface waters of the Sandy River Basin, located in east Multnomah County and northcentral Clackamas County. Farm representatives from the southern portion of the Sandy River Basin (within or close to Clackamas County) and those focusing on berries, livestock, hemp, and Christmas trees are especially being sought. USDA Seeks Members for National Advisory Committee on Urban Agriculture: The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking members for a new advisory committee on urban agriculture, part of a broader effort to focus on the needs of urban farmers. The 12-person committee will advise the Secretary of Agriculture on the development of policies and outreach relating to urban, indoor, and other emerging agricultural production practices as well as identify any barriers to urban agriculture. MCFB Seeks Board Directors: MCFB's Board may be composed of four Board Officers and eight additional Board Directors. Board Directors must be MCFB Voting Members, are elected at the Annual MCFB Meeting, and serve two-year terms. The Board of Directors meets approximately eight times each year (see Board Meetings). USDA FSA Crop Loss Adjusters: The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) is currently accepting offers from individuals interested in providing contracted crop adjusting services throughout Oregon for the 2021 crop year. Loss Adjuster applications for the 2021 crop year are due March 20, 2021, to the Oregon FSA State Office. Loss Adjusters perform crop loss and related program services as assigned by FSA. Starting pay for new adjusters is $19.75 per hour. A pay raise to $21.97 per hour is contingent on satisfactory completion of a full certification on at least one crop. Training pay is $13.64.
