As such, MCFB has identified the first 10+ entities that we recommend local farmers become acquainted with. Reaching out and establishing relationships proactively with the points of contact for these entities will pay big dividends when you need help or when an issue arises. 1. Multnomah County Farm Bureau/Oregon Farm Bureau & Oregon Association of Nurseries
Local and state non-profit organizations that help local farmers and ranchers be successful through on-farm assistance, farmer-to-farmer networking, advocacy, and training.
Private insurance/financial business that provides farm and ranch insurance for land, structures, vehicles, equipment, and crops.
Federal government agency that primarily provides a variety of cost-share, farm loans, and disaster assistance to farmers.
4. Oregon Department of Agriculture
State government agency that regulates most agricultural activities, including permitting and code enforcement, in Oregon.
5. Local Municipality Stormwater/Water Quality Programs
Local government agencies that regulate water quality issues within city limits.

Troutdale Stormwater Program
Local government agency that regulates land use in Multnomah County.
7. USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service
Federal government agency that provides technical and financial assistance for implementation of on-farm conservation practices.
8. East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District & West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District
Local government agencies that provide technical and financial assistance for implementation of on-farm conservation practices.
